Erasmus+ in action

VTS students participation in Erasmus BIP program, organized by the University '1 Decembrie 1918' in Alba Iulia under the name: Blended intensive program: Young Researchers Academy with specific case studies. Students had workshops in the topics of Lego robot programming, 3-D modelling, civil engineering and academic English.

In the students' words - 1:  Best moment? Probably visiting a salt mine. Would I recommend participating in Erasmus+ programs? I would definitely recommend it to everyone. You spend a week in a different country, you meet new people, culture, you learn new things. Overall, more than not, fun experience I recommend to everyone.

In the students' words - 2: My sincere reaction is that the trip was a fantastic experience, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been invited. I wholeheartedly recommend Erasmus projects to all students. The highlight was visiting a salt mine where we learned about its fascinating history. The professors were incredibly kind, patiently addressing all our questions and ensuring we had the information and experiences we needed.

In the students' words - 3:The Blended Intensive Programme put me in a position where I had to communicate with other colleagues in English and learn other people’s cultures and way of thinking. We programmed LEGO robots and had shooting competitions with them, they fed us a lot of great food and put us in positions where we had to think on our feet. It was one of the most fun trips I ever had. The dorms were acceptable. The food that they served us was great.

1) Best moment: Talking and laughing with my VTS and Portuguese colleagues late into the night. Training at 10pm and meeting new people who were also training at that time at the stadium. Doing the scientific research project where a had to read a complicated scientific paper and understand it.

2) Was it worth participating? This Erasmus workshop is a really good way to making new friends and put yourself in a position where there is a language barrier, however I only recommend this if you understand the English language. Other than that, it is the most fun I had for some time because of the out of the box thinking that we had to do.
