The strategic role of the study programme in fulfilling the College’s educational mission
Subotica Tech – College of Applied Sciences bases its educational orientation on the development of practice-oriented engineering education, integrating theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and the needs of the modern economy. Within this educational framework, the Electrotechnics study programme represents one of the key pillars in fulfilling the educational mission of the institution by educating competent and responsible engineers capable of developing, applying, and maintaining modern electrical energy, electronic, and control systems.
Electrotechnics represents one of the fundamental engineering fields that enables the reliable operation of modern technical systems and provides the foundation for the development of energy systems, industrial automation, electronics, and process control. Therefore, the study programme has been designed to educate engineers who understand the principles of designing, operating, maintaining, and improving electrical energy and electronic systems, who are capable of solving complex engineering problems and applying modern technologies in a responsible manner.
The curriculum is designed around contemporary course content, laboratory work, professional internships, and cooperation with industry. Through this approach, students develop the professional, technical, digital, and communication competencies necessary for successful integration into the modern working environment and for their continuous professional development.
Modern technical systems require intensive integration of electrical energy systems, electronics, automation, information technology, and control engineering. Therefore, the Electrotechnics study programme is developed as an integral part of the interconnected system of study programmes of the institution. It achieves its full developmental value as part of this integrated system, where, together with the Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Informatics, Information Technology, and Engineering Management study programmes, it contributes to the development of interdisciplinary competencies and the implementation of a unified concept of practice-oriented engineering education.
In this way, the Electrotechnics study programme directly contributes to fulfilling the educational mission of the institution. By connecting knowledge from the field of electrotechnics with modern technologies, the needs of industry, and the development of other engineering disciplines, the programme represents one of the key elements of the long-term development of Subotica Tech – College of Applied Sciences and its contribution to the advancement of modern technical systems and sustainable technological development.
