VTS professor Livia Szedmina, PhD visited EUPLA, La Almunia (Zaragoza University) in Zaragoza, Spain on June 19-23, 2023. This is a personal account of the visit: the mobility was obviously preceded by much email correspondence to ensure my date of visit was suitable for all involved and the lectures to be held could be organized on time. I was welcomed by the local Erasmus coordinator as well as two professors whom I had met on an Erasmus International Week some years before. I gave lectures in the field of academic English in both written and oral communication, leaving the audience with some tips of how to give great presentations in English for their next international conference. We spent quite some time with local staff exchanging experiences in engineering education, discussing the challenges of hosting international students and implementing English as the language of education. This gave all parties valuable insight into engineering education at our respective institutions. I promoted mobility opportunities at VTS for both staff and students. Apart from a tour of the institution, I was able to visit some of the most prominent sights of Zaragoza and get to know the local culture. The true value lies in the conversations with colleagues, networking and paving the way for future cooperation.
